Benefits Advice Worker
Richard Stacey has been a specialist Benefits Adviser for 15 years. He has worked for various Citizens Advice Bureaux, Wiltshire Law Centre and Avon & Bristol Law Centre. He has provided an advice service for children centre’s in Swindon and Reading. Across the years and miles of experience, Richard has observed that the common threads of his work include the resilience of those for whom the whim of Government is life limiting. Richard takes great pride in representing those that have been ignored and misunderstood. “Every story is unique” Richard says,” and that is what makes this role so exciting and visceral. You really have to listen and respect your client’s individuality. This is not sausage factory justice”.
Richard is studying, still, to qualify as a solicitor. Having qualified, he intends staying at St Pauls Advice Centre for as long as possible. “The work done here, over the years, show what a vital community resource the centre is. I am proud to be part of it.”
